When everybody was waiting just for a photo of the Batmobile, Zack Snyder dropped a Bat-bomb revealing the first official photo of Ben Affleck as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel (a.k.a. “Batman vs. Superman”).

Kevin Smith wasn’t lying when he said that we have never seen this costume in a film adaptation. While some speculated with an armor or an Arkham video game look, the new design is clearly influenced by Frank Miller’s graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns (that influenced Lee Bermejo’s Batman: Noel, as well).

It seems to have a combination of grey and black, but it is hard to tell if any amount of blue made it into the superhero outfit. No yellow makes total sense.

Oh, the Batmobile looks frigging awesome too.
