Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman talked to The Wall St. Journal about a “Justice League” and the Internet exploded like Krypton. But let’s take a closer look at the straightforward statements to separate “facts” (things that are mentioned in there) from rumors.

Zack Snyder will direct.

Fact: Some people hoped that Ben Affleck would helm the adventure but it would have been almost impossible for him to act and direct a production of this magnitude. After casting everyone in the first two Man of Steel films it makes total sense that Snyder directs it. I still believe that Alfonso Cuarón would be an awesome choice.

The Man of Steel sequel and “Justice League” will be shot back to back.

Rumor: It is stated that JL will be a follow up to the upcoming film but no word from Warner Bros. in regards to when they will start production. It is very possible and it would make sense to do it immediately and even overlap if possible, but nothing official yet.

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman will be in it.

Fact: Even when the term used is “expected” it pretty much confirms that the current actors will reprise their characters. The writer mentions that Cyborg will likely be there as well but it isn’t a 100% sure at this point.

Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter are also in.

Rumor: Any reference to these, other characters and actors (Matt Damon, Jason Momoa, etc.) is pure speculation.

“Justice League” has a release date.

Rumor: Writers at sites like Latino-Review and The Hollywood Reporter say that it will be 2017, while USA Today is running a headline that reads “WB: Zack Snyder to direct ‘Justice League’ for 2018.” But until now there is nothing official.

The 2016’s movie will be titled “Superman vs. Batman.”

Rumor: Greg Silverman refers to it like that in a very casual way, so he probably meant to say “Batman vs. Superman”, the tentatively name that has being given to the production.

A Wonder Woman film was also confirmed.

Rumor: The piece cites Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing at WB Bros, saying that “The world is ready for her.” But after cautiously stating “With the right script, that would be viable.”

More information will surely be released at San Diego Comic-Con. Who do you want to see in a Justice League film?
