I wasn’t exaggerating when I referred to Jamie Lee Curtis as Hollywood royalty during our interview for Pantelion’s “Spare Parts” (now playing in theaters nationwide). The actress has achieved icon status after a long list of memorable interpretations in different kinds of films. But the star is far from being a diva.

Watch the video below to see and hear Curtis being self-deprecating, expressing her views on immigration, reflecting on her career and much more.

The film, directed by Sean McNamara, also stars George Lopez, Carlos PenaVega, Esai Morales, Jose Julian, David Del Rio, Oscar Gutierrez, Alexa PenaVega, Alessandra Rosaldo and Marisa Tomei.

SPARE PARTS is a true life story about four Hispanic high school students who form a robotics club under the leadership of their school’s newest teacher, Fredi (GEORGE LOPEZ). With no experience, 800 bucks, used car parts and a dream, this rag tag team goes up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT. On their journey, they learn not only how to build a robot- they learn to build a bond that will last a lifetime.
