“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” and “Edge of Tomorrow” were fantastic big-budget movies. But after the phenomenal marketing promotion of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (in theaters July 11) one has to wonder if the sequel from Fox studios will beat the competition, becoming the “Inception” of 2014.

The final chilling trailer surely helps to keep our hopes higher than King Kong.

“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
