Los Angeles is a city rich in well known film landmarks. There are also interesting places hidden from tourists’guides. One of these is the L.A. branch of Prop Store, the prestigious English company that since 1998 connects collectors from around the world with coveted items used in the movie-making process.

For years I have been aware of its existence, but I needed a good excuse to go pay these guys a visit. Their “Pacific Rim” open auction -in partnership with Legendary Pictures- gave me exactly that. After a couple of emails I was welcomed by its passionate team at their offices in the San Fernando Valley.

Prop Store’s Chief Operations Officer in LA, Brandon Alinger, sat down with me to talk about this very special auction and different aspects surrounding their fascinating business.
