Today’s “Robocop” press conference in Los Angeles had another hero taking the spotlight for a moment. After a reporter asked Michael Keaton if he and Joel Kinnaman talked about performing with their faces partially covered, the actor took a few minutes to describe his own ordeal with the Batman suit in Tim Burton’s film.

He also emphasized that he was much more interested in Bruce Wayne than the Dark Knight: “We had shot a lot of the Bruce Wayne stuff …which was the key, by the way, it was. I never worried about the Batman thing, the way in was Bruce Wayne, that was it for me” describing the fictitious millionaire as unusual, dark, lonely, and depressed.

Watch our exclusive video with a very energetic Keaton talking about malfunctions, panic attacks, and more.

The full press conference will be up later today. “Robocop” is in theaters February 12.
