John Connor -humanity’s last hope in the Terminator saga- has been played on the big screen by four different actors. But only Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, White House Down, Lawless) had to portray a version of him with the kind of drastic character arc seen in TERMINATOR GENISYS (now playing nationwide).

Such transformation has been revealed in the marketing campaign but during our recent conversation in Beverly Hills the Australian actor preferred to avoid plot details. Clarke did talked about Connor’s personality, what he felt while reading the script, his admiration for Arnold Schwarzenegger, and more.

Displaying a great sense of humor throughout the candid exchange the actor also ratified what we all already knew, that Australians are some of the most fun people you can interview. Austrians too. Of course.

The franchise’s new chapter, directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World), also stars Emilia Clarke (Sarah Connor), Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese), Matt Smith (“Alex”), and J.K. Simmons (O’Brien).

TERMINATOR GENISYS is now playing in 3D, IMAX and 2D nationwide.
