Mexican star Gael García Bernal continues choosing politically charged films that are more about making statements than money. In “Rosewater” he plays the Theran-born journalist Maziar Bahari, who described his unjustified detention in Iran (100 days!) in The New York Times best-selling memoir “Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity, and Survivalj.”

The film -in limited theaters on November 7- marks the directorial debut of comedian, host and activist Jon Stewart.
