The new fantasy adventure from Walt Disney Pictures, THE BFG, celebrated its world premiere at El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.

On the red carpet I had the pleasure of speaking with WETA director and special effects supervisor Joe Letteri, and actors Jonathan Holmes, Paul Moniz De Sa, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Rafe Spall, and Penelope Wilton.

The film, directed by Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies, Jurassic Park), also stars Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill, Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, and Jemaine Clement.

THE BFG will be released in theaters on July 1.

A girl named Sophie encounters the Big Friendly Giant who, despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be a kindhearted soul who is considered an outcast by the other giants because unlike his peers refuses to eat boys and girls.
