Hogun-Asano-Thor-The-Dark-World

In ‘Thor’, Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano (Battleship) got his own character poster, action figure and more as the loyal warrior Hogun. But he has been totally absent in the promotional campaign for the upcoming sequel, leading to some speculation online.

Well, Desde Hollywood not only has the first image of the character in Thor: The Dark World (in theaters Nov. 8) but also some information to put it in context.

In this photo Hogun is thanking Thor for coming to the rescue with Volstagg, Fandral, and Sif, to fight The Marauders, hostile creatures that invaded his planet Vanaheim and threatened his own family.

Talking about this character, when I was covering The Thor red carpet in Los Angeles, a Japanese reporter asked Stan Lee about an actor from that Asian country playing Hogun, and he replied “I had no idea that they made him Japanese! I haven’t seen the movie yet.”. Yep, the “Executive Producer” title doesn’t mean much in terms of actual involvement with a project.

Anyway, here is a batch of other images that recently surfaced online.
